Fjällräven brand story

Fjällräven has been making high quality outdoor- and hiking equipment for 50 years. Nowadays the manufacturer is best known for its clothing and tents optimized for Nordic fjell conditions. Fjällräven started out in northern Sweden in 1950 when Åke Nordin started to develop a more comfortable backpack for his trips in the wilderness. The product was apparently very good, as it drew attention from other backpackers who actually wanted one themselves.

Nowadays Fjällräven is a heavyweight among Nordic outdoor manufacturers. One of their best known products is the Kånken backpack, made from 1978. Another bullseye from Fjällräven has been G-1000, a polyester/cotton fabric that is used in many backpacking jackets and trousers. Giving excellent wear resistance, wind protection and breathability, it also dries even faster than some synthetic materials.
