Backpacking Tents
Backpacking tents are weatherproof and light enough to be carried, paddled or pedaled to your objective.
Three season tents serve backpackers from spring to fall. In many three season tents the inner tent has large panels of mosquito net instead of solid fabric panels, offering good comfort in hot weather.
Four season tents protect you in the harshest of conditions. The differences to three season tents are in materials and detail: four season tents can be “closed down” with fabric panels to stop snow from getting in, and materials are in general tougher than those found in three season tents.
Most tents come with the manufacturer’s recommendation for the amount of users. Especially in winter conditions room creates comfort, and many winter backpackers favour three person tents for two users, to get the extra space. Large vestibules are another feature that comes to great value in difficult conditions.
